I threw an impromptu dinner party for my friends last night and it went over pretty well.

We had:

  • chorizo
  • cotija cheese
  • paprika rind  goat cheese
  • guacamole
  • Confit chicken thighs
  • homemade peach sangria
  • red wine
  • salad
  • arepas
  • sweet cream & blueberry sorbet with granola and blueberries

It made me realize that I really enjoy cooking for my friends. I guess it’s how I show people how much I love them. It brings me such joy to see people enjoying my food. Which is another reason why I get so insulted when my mom makes a disgusted face when my cooking is too salty… haha.

Can you believe that she baked these and made them look like real burgers?

I’d be so confused if I had to eat this…burgers..are..not sweet. huh?

haha

I haven’t had a decent breakfast in awhile, except for today! Mmm. this photo is more like christmas breakfast when your family goes all out on food….bacon, sausage, eggs, coffee cake, etc. Who’s hungry?!

Sushi Cake!

This must have been made with fondant..It’s so ornate and clean..just like Japanese art!

Martha Stewart truly has the best recipes that result in the best home cooking that anyone will ever do, but they’re so impossible! I remember my mother attempting to use some of Martha’s recipes but they were too tedious and pretentious for her to complete haha. So she stuck to just purchasing Martha’s products i.e. gardening gloves from KMart haha.

It’s one of my friend’s birthdays on Tuesday! I might make him my famous sour cream chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and coffee filling. It also looks similar to this except the icing is dark and shiny…like ganache!
